We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated technician to install permanent exterior lighting systems on residential homes. This is a physical, outdoor, hands-on job that involves traveling to customer locations and spending much of the day working from ladders while installing lighting along rooflines, soffits, and architectural features.
This job is best suited for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing their own workflow, and completing high-quality work without constant supervision. You will often be the primary representative of our company on-site.
No prior lighting experience is required — we provide training — but this is not an entry-level position for someone unfamiliar with tools, ladders, or physical work.
We are a small, family-run and owned business. No corporate stuff. We’re a close knit team, so our work and relationships with each other mean a lot to us. We want someone who will care and be invested in our growth and the crew.

About the job:
What you'll be doing
- Driving a take-home company vehicle to customer homes and job sites
- Installing permanent exterior LED lighting systems along rooflines and soffits
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping aluminum mounting tracks
- Running and securing low-voltage wiring
- Mounting lighting components cleanly and precisely
- Using ladders daily (extension ladders, step ladders, roofline access)
- Working independently on many jobs while maintaining quality and efficiency
- Training customers on how to use their lighting system after installation
- Answering basic customer questions clearly and professionally
Working Conditions
- This job involves working from ladders most of the day
- Work is performed outdoors year-round
- You must be comfortable working in rain, cold, wind, and light snow
- Work may continue in challenging weather conditions when it is safe to do so
While installations can be physically demanding and weather conditions are not always ideal, technicians are expected to maintain a professional attitude and appearance when interacting with customers at all times.
What we're looking for
- Strong familiarity with hand tools and basic power tools
- Comfortable working from ladders for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to measure accurately and follow installation procedures
- Able to work independently and stay productive without supervision
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers
- Takes pride in neat workmanship, clean job sites, and a professional appearance
- Reliable, punctual, and respectful
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work at heights safely and confidently
- Ability to lift and carry ladders, tools, and materials
- Ability to stand, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
Pay and benefits
- $30/hour starting pay

Prior Experience
Prior experience with ladders, hand drills, table saws, and other basic tools is necessary.
No previous lighting or electrical experience required — we will train the right person. You may be asked to demonstrate some basic tasks during your interview, climbing a ladder, using basic tools, drilling holes, etc.
